  1. Prepare the cream cheese
    In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with vanilla extract and cinnamon if using. This adds extra flavor to your sandwich.
  2. Spread the cream cheese
    Spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture on two slices of bread, making sure to cover the entire surface.
  3. Add the jelly
    Spread the grape jelly or strawberry jam on the remaining two slices of bread. If using honey, drizzle it over the jelly layer.
  4. Assemble the sandwich
    Place the jelly-covered bread slices on top of the cream cheese-covered slices to form two sandwiches. Press gently to seal.
  5. Toast (optional)
    For a warm sandwich, spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of each sandwich and toast in a pan over medium heat until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Serve
    Cut the sandwiches diagonally and serve immediately with fresh berries on the side if desired.
