Cold Brew Coffee
Smooth, low-acid coffee concentrate for perfect iced coffee
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Grind the coffeeCoarsely grind the coffee beans to the consistency of coarse sea salt. Avoid fine grounds as they will make the coffee cloudy and bitter.
-
Combine coffee and waterPlace the ground coffee in a large glass container or mason jar. Pour the cold filtered water over the grounds, making sure all grounds are saturated. Stir gently to ensure even distribution.
-
Steep the coffeeCover the container and let it steep at room temperature for 12 hours or in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The longer the steep, the stronger the concentrate will be.
-
Filter the coffeeAfter steeping, strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter into a clean container. For clearer coffee, you can filter it twice.
-
Store and serveTransfer the cold brew concentrate to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. To serve, fill a glass with ice, pour the concentrate (dilute with equal parts water if desired), and add milk and sweetener to taste.
