Instructions

  1. Prepare the coffee
If you haven't already, brew your coffee and let it cool completely in the refrigerator, or use pre-made cold brew coffee for a smoother taste. Cold coffee works best for smoothies to prevent melting the ice too quickly.
  2. Combine base ingredients
In a high-powered blender, combine the cold coffee, coconut milk, frozen banana slices, and ice cubes. The frozen banana will help create a creamy texture without diluting the coffee flavor.
  3. Add flavoring ingredients
Add the maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, cocoa powder (if using), shredded coconut, and cinnamon to the blender. These ingredients will enhance the tropical coconut and rich coffee flavors.
  4. Blend until smooth
Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more coffee or coconut milk; if too thin, add more ice or frozen banana.
  5. Serve and garnish
Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses. Top with whipped coconut cream if desired and sprinkle with additional shredded coconut and a light dusting of cinnamon or cocoa powder for an elegant presentation.
