Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the ovenPreheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper, or lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
-
Prepare the meatloaf mixtureIn a large bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, dried oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
-
Shape the meatloafTransfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet and shape into a loaf about 9 inches long and 4-5 inches wide. If using a loaf pan, press the mixture into the pan, making sure it's evenly distributed.
-
Make the glazeIn a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon mustard until well combined.
-
Apply the glazeSpread the glaze evenly over the top and sides of the meatloaf.
-
Bake the meatloafBake in the preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 160°F (71°C).
-
Rest before servingRemove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
