Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients
Pit and peel the avocados. Wash and dry the cilantro leaves, removing any thick stems. Juice the limes and mince the garlic. If using jalapeño, remove seeds and roughly chop.
  2. Blend the base ingredients
In a food processor or blender, combine the avocados, cilantro, lime juice, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and garlic. Pulse several times until ingredients are roughly chopped and starting to combine.
  3. Add seasonings
Add the ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and jalapeño (if using). Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Adjust consistency
With the blender running, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dressing reaches your desired consistency. For a thicker dip, use less water; for a pourable dressing, add more.
  5. Taste and adjust
Taste the dressing and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more salt, pepper, or lime juice according to your preference. For a tangier dressing, add an extra squeeze of lime.
  6. Store properly
Transfer the dressing to an airtight container. If not using immediately, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the dressing to prevent browning, then seal with a lid.
